Transport & Route Planning (9292.nl)
Th thing about coming to the Netherlands from London (not necessarily the rest of the UK, but certainly from London), is the fact that all Londoners (or anyone living in London for anything longer than a week for that matter) with an internet connection become so used to using tfl.gov.uk that they forget how to do things manually with timetables and maps.
You see tfl.gov.uk, or the website of “Traffic for London” to give it a name other than it’s URL, is a website that not only plans your journey across London “from your door to your destination”, but it also advises you of disruptions and navigates you safely around them. – a very useful site as you can imagine.
The problem in being so pampered by technology is that when you go outside London (though the reason for why would escape most London dwellers) they simply forget how to plan things manually. I for example have personally made a number of minor flaws since arrival that invited a brisk jog from one station to the next.
But my dear people of London (and those like myself who only lived there for a short time) the Netherlands has a solution: 9292.nl – It’s like TFL only country wide!
So if you want to leave London for a stint // No, I don’t know why you would either… except for maybe to see the real world… // Then the Netherlands is the place to come! We have all your home comforts: Macdonalds / BurgerKing, Cinema’s, Prostitutes, Weed, etc.
or if you’re one of those more classy London denizens:
Michelin Star restaurants, Theatres, Escorts, Cannabis, etc.
I’m joking of course there are no Michelin start restaurants…Wait there are? are you sure? hmm.
…
Oh the joke was that there is more to the Netherlands than Food, Sex, Drugs and other entertainment. – Woops messed that one up!
