This is the story of yet another British Expat.

One day to go, and then my partner and I will be thrown into expatriate life.

It’s not by choice, the British Gov’t has decided that because I insist on studying I have no right to love the person that I love.

You see I’m married to a foreigner. One of those terrible, migrants who has come over here to study and earn a top notch degree and then get sent home by a country that thinks all migrants are “Stealing Jobs”.

My husband graduated with an excellent masters degree, He’s one of the most qualified graduate chiropractors in the country. He’s studied hard and completed a number of CPD courses, while at uni, that most would struggle to compare after 10 years in the job.

But because I am still studying the Gov’t has decided that we are not worthy of these shores. Even with Job offers coming out of his ears my partner may not work in the UK because I don’t work yet.

So this is our story, the story of a Brit and a Malaysian, refusing to be separated by a country that doesn’t care.

I hope I’ve packed enough tea!

Speak Soon,

Tim.
